WRJ MIDWEST DISTRICT CONVENTION               OCTOBER 27-30, 2016

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:  During this convention, we will be voting in a new (2016-2018) slate of Board of Directors, for the proposed slate, click here.  Thank you to Marcy Frost and the Nominating Committee (listed on the slate)!

Also, Those of you who have served on the Midwest District Executive Committee are aware that we hold a dinner meeting on the Thursday evening of Convention for both current and newly nominated members.  It is a wonderful opportunity to thank those who have served over the past two years and welcome those who will serve over the next two years.  It will also give you a chance to meet with the leadership team and learn from those who preceded you in your new position.

Finally, the incoming Board of Directors, including the Executive Committee, committee chairs and Women's Group/Sisterhood Presidents, will be meeting on Sunday morning of Convention October 30, 2016 at 8:00AM.  At that time, we will conduct any necessary business and provide training specific to your position.  You will also have an opportunity to meet others on your team and set up how you will be communicating with each other over the next two years.

IMPORTANT REMINDERS:  During the convention, we will be bestowing the following honors during the Kavod luncheon on Saturday--

Rhoda Hauptman Memorial Award
Rhoda Hauptman

This award was created to honor the memory of Rhoda Hauptman, the first president of the Midwest Federation of Temple Sisterhoods (MFTS), the predecessor of Women of Reform Judaism Midwest District.  The award is designed to acknowledge and publicize the accomplishments and achievements of individual sisterhoods and women’s groups within the Midwest District, with the expectation that the outstanding programs featured will spark the creation of other innovative programs.

Sisterhood presidents and boards have been asked to select one special woman for recognition at our Kavod Awards Luncheon as your sisterhood's WOMAN OF VALOR. Our WOMAN OF VALOR award has become a wonderful tradition at our District conventions. The honorees will be highlighted at our luncheon program and receive a recognition certificate and a beautiful WOMAN OF VALOR pin which we hope they will wear proudly alongside their other WRJ and District pins.
