GENERAL


When and where is the assembly?
WRJ’s 47th Assembly will be held Wednesday, November 4th through Sunday, November 8th at the Sheraton Centre Toronto in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The regular program will begin at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday with workshops. The opening plenary session will begin at 8:00 pm that evening.  The assembly concludes at 10:45 a.m. on Sunday. Joint programming with the Union for Reform Judaism’s Biennial will be held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.


What happens at assembly?

Every two years, WRJ members to come together to explore the many facets of sisterhood. The assembly schedule is full of exciting opportunities to gather new ideas, study with scholars, worship, and meet old and new friends.

What is the cost of registration?

To keep assembly as affordable as possible registration costs will remain at 2007 levels.

Early bird registration will be open from mid-June through September 30th. All costs below are quoted in US dollars.

Full Registration:  $580
URJ Dual Registration: $250 (additional)



How do I register for the assembly?

Online registration is the quickest and easiest way to register for assembly. WRJ is now going green, which means you will not receive a large packet of registration information as in past years. Printed registration materials are available only by special request. If you wish to receive printed registration materials, please call the WRJ office at 212.650.4050.


ATTENDANCE


Who can attend assembly?

Any member of Women of Reform Judaism may register for the assembly.


Can I attend both the WRJ assembly and the Union’s biennial?
It is possible to register for both the Union’s biennial and our assembly. There is an additional cost of $250 for dual registration. Standard attendance at the WRJ assembly includes many activities with the Union, including Shabbat services and meals, a joint plenum and workshops on Thursday, and late night entertainment.


Can I attend only the Shabbat portion of assembly?

It is not possible to register only for the Shabbat portion of the assembly, which is held along with the Union at the convention center. However, you may attend Friday night activities or all Shabbat activities as the guest of a registrant.



HOTEL AND ROOMING


What is the nightly room rate for assembly?

WRJ has secured a special room rate of US$192 per night at the Sheraton Centre Toronto. Concierge level rooms and suites are also available on a first-come-first-serve basis, but at higher rates.


How do I reserve a hotel room?
Once you have completed and paid your registration in full, you will be issued a confirmation number and contact information for our housing bureau. The housing bureau will help you compare prices at Toronto convention center area hotels and book your room. You must have a confirmation number to reserve a room in any of the hotels where WRJ and the Union are holding blocks of rooms.
