Vice President of Social Justice

Michelle Scheinkopf serves as WRJ Vice President of Social Justice. She also serves on the Heartland District Board's nominating committee and is a past Midwest District president. She is also active in her women's group, Women of North Shore Congregation Israel in Glencoe, Illinois where she is currently the YES Fund co-chair and WRJ liaison. She is also a past sisterhood president and a member of the WNSCI past president leadership advisory team. Michelle has been a member of the North American Board of WRJ since 2013. During this time, she chaired the college outreach committee, the L'Atid Cohort, and co-chaired the 2024 Fried Women's Conference.  

Michelle taught Health Education at Glenbrook South High School for 35 years and is now enjoying retirement with her husband Jeff. They are the proud parents of their adult children, Elizabeth and Bryan and their rescue chihuahua, Hera. In her free time, Michelle loves to knit, read historical fiction, and spend as much time as possible at the Chicago Botanic Garden.
