First Vice President

Judy Wexler is the WRJ First Vice President. She joined the WRJ North American Board in 2015 and is proud to promote WRJ’s pillars of sisterhood, spirituality, and social justice to our supporters. Judy began her WRJ journey as a sisterhood co-president with the Women of North Shore Congregation Israel in Glencoe, Illinois, where she also served three years as synagogue president. 

Judy has served as WRJ Vice President of Member Services where she oversaw the WRJ Districts and women’s groups, she co-chaired the 2019 WRJ Social Justice Conference and the 2021 WRJ Resolutions Committee, and she has served on numerous other committees and task forces. Judy currently serves on the WRJ Heartland District Executive Committee. She previously served on the WRJ Midwest District Executive Committee as Vice President of Social Justice and as Recording Secretary.  


Judy lives in Winnetka, Illinois in the suburbs of Chicago with her husband Bruce Menkes. They have two adult daughters, Lena and Margo. Judy’s professional career included working as a practicing attorney, later as a middle school reading and writing teacher, and most recently she coordinated an individualized instruction Hebrew school program, preparing young teens for their B’nei Mitzvah. Working on behalf of WRJ’s mission and values has been the continuation of her lifelong journey of using education and leadership to try to create impact in the world.
